My story
Breed: Shepherd / Labrador X DOB: 5/2011 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): tan and black Description:Hi, I'm River, an elegant and active Shepherd/Labrador x who is in need of a new home as my owners have to move to a smaller place and I cannot go too.I've been enjoying myself in my foster home, but what I really want is a forever home. My foster parents take me for fun outings at the beach and I ride great inside the car. With my previous owner I rode in a crate in the bed of a truck and only to the vet which I didn't enjoy at all.In general I'm a friendly girl, but I get nervous meeting new people for the first time, but then I'm fine. My foster parents have been introducing me to new human friends.I love attention and would be great company in a home alone or with another large dog with the right temperament. The first week with my foster brother Monty, I did a little growling and showed some dominant behavior for attention, but my foster parents have shown me I don't have to do that for attention.I LOVE going for walks and can go for 2-3 miles each time. On walks I ignore other dogs, I do not growl or bark, I'm content just walking. My foster parents have started walking us on a split lead so one foster parent can walk us together and we've done great on the first try with no issues. With my previous owner, I've had a couple of incidents with small hyper and aggressive dogs where they tried to bite and torment me while on leash. I don't care for those types of dogs. My foster mom agrees, I definitely do not like small dogs.If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application.
